About the role:
As the Warehouse Manager for our dynamic and rapidly expanding online retail business, you will be at the helm of our main in-house warehouse operations. Your role will involve managing a team of Warehouse Team Leaders, who together manage approximately 50 full-time employees (FTEs) in addition to overseeing all aspects of warehouse management, supplier coordination, contract courier relationships, inventory accuracy, and outsourced third-party logistics. This position is critical to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our operations, which support a business with over £130 million in annual sales.
Main responsibilities:
* Warehouse Management, including overseeing daily operations and order fulfilment, stock control and inventory management, facility management and health and safety leadership.
* People Management, including managing the fulfilment and goods in teams across all shifts and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all warehouse processes and systems.
* Planning and reporting, including cost management, strategic reporting and KPI development and tracking.
* Strategy and delivery, including developing a strategic plan for the warehouse, working closely with distribution partners, supplier and couriers and third party logistics management.
What are we looking for?
* Proven experience in a similar role within a comparable, growing business, or ready to step up to this level.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively across functions.
* Strong leadership abilities with a track record of motivating teams, setting objectives, and managing performance.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
* Proficiency in stock control systems and a proven track record in logistics or distribution.
* Experience in identifying and implementing systems or process enhancements.
* Results-driven with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
* Integrity and a commitment to upholding company culture and values.
* Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle changing priorities.
* Supportive and approachable nature, fostering a positive team atmosphere.
