The manual handling team, whilst not being large, is a busy, friendly department to work in. Our ethos is to support each other as well as colleagues from the wider Trust in developing expertise and best practice. We have regular team meetings, as well as peer support. As a team, we embrace change and are forward thinking and encourage every member to have a voice in our continuing development. Our main focus is to provide the best quality training to staff across the NCA.
This is a full-time, permanent post. Applicants must have a current driving license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis is essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver manual handling training courses to staff across the NCA. This will include people and inanimate load training through the demonstration of techniques and the use of patient handling equipment during practical training sessions.
You will liaise with, and feedback to, the manual handling specialist on attendee's performance during training, ensuring accurate training records are maintained, and any issues arising in the training room are satisfactorily resolved. You will also liaise with the Manual Handling Specialist to ensure safe manual handling practice throughout the organisation and promote musculoskeletal health.
Good organisational skills are required for this role, alongside an ability to work as part of a team, using effective communication skills. A desire to teach is essential for anybody applying for this post.
