Manufacturing Operator – Rigging Team

As part of the Flexible Pipe Systems Offshore team based in Newcastle UK, you will be joining an established business and team with expertise in pipe design, manufacturing, and installation. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Manufacturing Operator – Rigging Team, to join our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient rigging and movement of heavy equipment and materials within the facility. This role requires a keen understanding of rigging techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
As a Manufacturing Operator – Rigging Team, you will be responsible for:
* Operating overhead cranes and logistics Trucks to move product reels to workstations to enable production and client load outs.
* Setting up and operating rigging equipment, including hoists, ropes, pulleys, and other specialized gear to lift and position heavy materials and equipment.
* Selecting and inspecting rigging equipment to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
* Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Conducting safety checks and risk assessments before and during rigging operations to identify potential hazards.
* Working closely with operators and other team members to plan and execute rigging operations efficiently.
* Communicating effectively with team members to coordinate lifting and moving activities.
* Performing routine maintenance and inspections on rigging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.
* Maintaining accurate records of rigging operations, including weights, load charts, and safety checks.
* Assisting in the development of rigging plans and procedures as needed.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
* Have a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant vocational training or certification in rigging preferred.
* Have proven experience as a rigger in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
* Have strong knowledge of rigging techniques, safety practices, and equipment.
* Be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts.
* Have excellent physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.
* Have strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
* Hold relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCCO) are a plus.
