GSL Education are on the lookout for a Teaching Assistant in a vibrant secondary school in Hull to join their English department, supporting students from Year 7 to Year 11. The successful candidate will assist in planning, preparing and delivering classroom resources, as well as providing targeted support to students who need extra help with literacy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.
About The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be an indispensable component in assisting instructors and fostering the development of young learners. To deliver engaging lessons, offer both individual and group help and contribute to the general good classroom environment, this position will entail tight collaboration with teachers. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on young lives.
Responsibilities of a Graduate Teaching Assistant:
Assist teachers in delivering high-quality lessons, helping to engage students and facilitate their learning.
Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, addressing their specific learning needs.
Help prepare teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
Support teachers in assessing student progress and providing feedback to help guide their development.
Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, managing behaviour effectively.
Assist in organising and supervising extracurricular activities and school events.
The successful candidate will:
Have a background in English or relevant experience, along with strong communication skills to foster engagement and confidence in reading and writing.
Possess strong communication and classroom management, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
Have a methodical, understanding and compassionate approach to helping young students.
Have flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects.
Possess a passion for education and supporting students' learning progress.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
