The Division is committed to providing a training environment to support post holders in sitting specialty exams. This post will provide excellent experience and training opportunities and would be ideal for doctors who have completed foundation training or equivalent and wishing to gain experience. The post-holder will be allocated a Supervising Consultant with regular meetings to discuss educational goals and achievements. You will be expected to participate in regular teaching that is available in line with your level of experience. Desirable that candidates have previous NHS experience at min of F2 level or equivalent. The successful applicants may be required to cross cover within the various medical specialties. Posts involve the participation on one of the General Medicine on call rotas. This is an ideal opportunity for those intending to make a career in either Acute or Emergency Medicine, those preparing for MRCP or for anyone wanting to follow the ACCS pathway. Please note that this post is for 10 months initially. Post will be in Acute Medicine until March 2025 and will then move to Emergency Medicine for the remaining 6 months. Main duties of the job Assessment of new patients. Plan medical treatments and appropriate outpatient investigations. Attendance on ward rounds and on occasion medical opinions provided for other specialties. Completion of discharge summaries. Provide senior support to junior members of the team particularly for deteriorating patients or procedures. The post-holder will be expected to assist with any other aspects of patient care as appropriate. Outpatient Clinics or Ambulatory clinic attendance as directed. Assessment, treatment and transfer or discharge of patients attending the Emergency Department.
