ANDREW, an Amphenol company, is hiring a Test Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing & Operations team in Kirkcaldy, Fife. This role will report to the Senior RF Engineer and involve direct contact with multiple teams across the organization.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World
We are seeking an organized and proactive Test Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform electrical and mechanical measurement testing to support production, design engineering, and project requirements.
You Will Make an Impact By:
* Setting up, calibrating, and performing measurements using test equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes.
* Assembling and testing prototype or production components from engineering drawings and installation bulletins.
* Installing and testing antennas on outdoor test ranges, working at heights of up to 25m.
* Analyzing measurement data to assess antenna and component performance.
* Collaborating with design engineers to receive predicted results, measurement techniques, and project requirements.
* Performing antenna qualification tests such as Vibration and environmental cycling and reporting findings.
* Conducting ‘Trial Builds’ of new products and reporting in line with corporate procedures.
* Fault finding on prototype or production parts using various measurement techniques (time domain gating, CMM analysis, etc.).
* Maintaining databases of measurements for departmental access.
Required Qualifications:
* Ability to perform component-level measurements using test equipment like vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
* Self-motivation to diagnose test or antenna performance issues efficiently.
* Good communication skills to relay results and issues to production managers and global teams.
* Willingness to cross-train in areas such as forklift operation, antenna rigging, and mechanical testing.
* Working knowledge of PC software, including Office, 3D CAD (SolidWorks), and programming languages.
* Understanding of ‘Design for Manufacture’ principles.
* Physical fitness for outdoor work at heights, with safety training such as tower climbing, rescue, and first aid required.
