Job Title: Trainee Sprinkler Service Engineer
Location: Manchester (Field Based)
Job Purpose:
To assist in the servicing and maintenance of commercial and residential sprinkler systems while gaining hands-on experience and industry knowledge under the supervision of qualified engineers.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Assist in carrying out servicing as per the LPCB sprinkler rules and learn to identify any faults.
2. Support with small remedial works under supervision.
3. Shadow experienced engineers on emergency call-outs (both in and out of hours).
4. Work as part of a team and develop the ability to work independently as skills progress.
5. Maintain a professional attitude and deliver excellent customer service.
Job Context / Key Challenges:
1. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional out-of-hours support.
2. Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
3. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different working environments.
Role Dimensions:
Work closely with the Service Manager and experienced service engineers to develop skills and knowledge.
Person Profile (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):
1. Keen interest in pursuing a career in sprinkler system maintenance.
2. Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge (preferred but not essential).
3. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
4. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
5. Basic IT skills for submitting electronic worksheets.
