Working 16 hours a week, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the medical team at Thornford Park. From managing their diaries and planning meetings to updating records, you will be able to handle any admin-related task.
As the Medical Secretary, you will work alongside registered clinicians assisting with confidential paperwork, service user records, and GP letters. You will liaise with external agencies to obtain up-to-date information on service users and will take a lead in recording their blood test results.

As a Medical Secretary, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the registered clinician with letters and general documentation
* Supporting all meetings as a minute taker, as requested, chaired by the Medical Director, SMT, or ad hoc
* Typing, checking, and amending documents for spelling and grammatical errors within deadlines
* Participating in the administration, development, and evaluation of regulatory matters
* Coordinating the hospital diary and managing clinicians' whereabouts
* Arranging conference calls
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience of audio typing
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent
* Knowledge of mental health and medications
Where you will be working:
You will work at Thornford Park, which consists of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide personalized assessment and treatment programs for males with mental illness, complex care needs, as well as those with personality disorders. Service users may have histories of offending or previous placement failures.
