This is the jobThis pivotal role within the AA’s Group Customer Outcomes Function is essential in supporting the AA’s vision. The role involves overseeing robust new product development and managing existing products with governance processes that ensure thorough oversight and consistency across the AA Group. Our governance processes are designed to ensure that we create and manage products that deliver excellent customer outcomes, provide fair value in line with regulatory requirements, and align with our strategic priorities and commercial objectives, all within our conduct risk appetite.NIf you are passionate about making a positive impact on the driving lives of UK drivers and have the skills to ensure our products meet the highest standards, we would love to hear from you.What will I be doing?nPlaying a critical role in achieving the AA’s future strategy, by ensuring product development and changes meet internal governance requirements and conduct risk assessments across Consumer, B2B, Insurance, and Financial Services teams.NEmbedding Consumer Duty throughout the product governance lifecycle, championing the ‘Products and Services’ and ‘Price and Value’ outcomes. Provide independent challenge to ensure adherence to the group product governance policy and maintain the Consumer Duty Dashboard for outcomes 1 and 2.NOwning and managing the new product development governance process, ensuring it meets FCA requirements and is understood and utilised across the business. Engage key stakeholders, manage the process, and provide regular updates to senior regulatory committees. Coordinate the New Product Development and Change Board and act as secretariat.NImplementing a consistent approach to good product governance and management across all AA Product teams. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver this, including onboarding and CPD programmes for Product ManagersnWork closely with Product Managers to ensure they understand the target market and potential vulnerability within their products and upskill team capacity on other key regulatory areas such as fair value assessment. nLeading key product governance and outcomes forums, monitoring customer outcomes at individual product levels for both regulated and non-regulated products. Ensure conduct risk dashboard and governance reporting assess conduct risk throughout the product lifecycle. Act as secretariat for senior product forums, supporting the Head of Group Customer Outcomes and AAISL CEO in their regulatory responsibilitiesnActing as a subject matter expert in fair value assessment across regulated products, supporting product and pricing teams in evidencing and reporting on fair value through relevant conduct forums. Develop and provide guidance, tools and training on the regulatory requirements and examples of what ‘good looks like. nWork with pricing teams to ensure good outcomes are demonstrated throughout the product lifecycle and consider market implications in product governance.NSupport product management teams in completing risk-based product attestations by providing independent assurance of attestation outcomes and maintaining robust attestation guidance and templates that meet FCA PROD requirements.NWhat do I need?nStrong understanding of FCA regulation, the Consumer Duty and the regulatory environment is mandatory. nExperience in Product Management, Product Governance, Product Development, or Underwriting within an FCA regulated business, focusing on key levers driving good customer outcomes.NProven experience in new product development, product strategy, and planning within a B2C business.NStrong stakeholder management skills, both upwards and downwards, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.NStrong commercial understanding, with experience in building business cases and a proven track record of forecasted benefits materialising.NAbility to demonstrate sound consumer-led thinking, seeking out relevant insights, and translating strategic thinking into workable solutions.NGood initiative and follow-through skills, ensuring timely and well-organised delivery, and managing quality through others.NDegree educated with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in product governance, product management, or conduct management roles, demonstrating honesty, integrity, competency, and financial soundness.NAdditional informationWe’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do.
