Health and Safety Manager - Glasgow

Peak Scientific is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to lead and enhance our safety culture. In this role, you will coordinate and advise on all aspects of HSE (health, safety, and environmental) management systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across our global operations. Your responsibilities will include establishing standards, processes, training, and communication channels to uphold HSE responsibilities within Peak Scientific.
Your duties will include:
1. Ensuring a safe workplace environment free from health risks
2. Leading HSE improvements and initiatives, including achieving ISO45001 accreditation
3. Conducting and reviewing risk assessments for all equipment and operations
4. Carrying out safety inspections and maintaining records
5. Developing a comprehensive program of HSE inspections, audits, and checks, and facilitating internal and external audits such as ISO45001, PUWER, COSHH, and NEBOSH
6. Establishing HSE training programs, coordinating with external providers, and maintaining accurate training records across the company
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be NEBOSH qualified or working towards it, with proven experience in leading HSE transformations within manufacturing settings. They will have demonstrated success in improving safety culture and implementing HSE enhancements. The candidate should be confident, adaptable, and effective in communication at all organizational levels.
* Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
* Self-motivated with initiative
* COSHH trained and capable of advising managers and supervisors
* Experience in developing and revising HSE policies in line with ISO 45001/ISO 9001 standards
* Membership in IOSH is desirable
* Strong communication skills with a professional and assertive demeanor
* Ability to interpret legislation and ISO standards and apply them to company processes
