If so, we’d love to hear from you About the Role: We are looking for an energetic, dedicated, and empathetic Teaching Assistant to work primarily in our PE department. In this role, you will work closely with students with SEMH needs, supporting them during physical education lessons and helping them engage in a variety of sports and physical activities. Your role will be crucial in promoting physical wellbeing, teamwork, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment. You will also get the chance to support students in other subject areas helping developing academic success. Key Responsibilities: Assist the PE teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive physical education lessons. Support students with SEMH needs, providing both academic and emotional support during PE lessons and activities. Help students develop physical skills, teamwork, and resilience through a variety of sports and fitness activities. Foster positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and guidance to build self-esteem and confidence. Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support based on their specific needs. Encourage good behavior, sportsmanship, and cooperation in a safe and structured environment. Contribute to maintaining a well-organized and safe PE classroom, sports facilities, and equipment. Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH or SEN is desirable, but not essential. A genuine interest in physical education and sports, with the ability to engage and inspire students. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with diverse emotional and behavioral needs. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with teachers and other support staff. A proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to working with students in PE lessons and activities. Why Join Us?
