SEN Teaching Assistant 2:1
Year Two | ASD | SEMH | Coventry (CV8) | £90-£105 a day | start ASAP
Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a Year Two child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. The role is based at an amazing primary school in Kenilworth (CV8). This is a long-term to permanent position, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on a child's educational and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 2:1 support, assisting with learning activities and social interactions.
- Implement tailored strategies from the pupil's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
- Support communication, sensory, and behavioural needs, using visual aids and structured routines.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in classroom activities.
- Collaborate with fellow 2:1 Teaching Assistant, SEN staff, and parents to ensure consistent support and track progress.
- Have sufficient understanding of Key Stage one Curriculum.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with ASD and SEMH in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including visual supports, social stories, and sensory regulation.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to engaging children with additional needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in KS1.
