Product Manager

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the entire product planning process. You will also be responsible for the definition of the product vision, the strategy and tactics, ensuring that it supports the needs of the customer and the goals of IGS. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders through direct customer communication, public presentation and teamwork. The role will require a conceptual, but broad technical knowledge about software, mechanical and electrical engineering as well as plant science.
Responsibilities
* Be the expert on the customer and the product(s). Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps, and generate innovative ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
* Define a cohesive whole product strategy in collaboration with other product managers and translate it into detailed requirements and roadmaps for product research as well as final product development by the various engineering teams and disciplines.
* Work closely with the Project/Delivery Managers, who work separately to assign, manage, and deliver projects, while you are focused on identifying exactly what customer problems to solve and in what order.
* Create business cases for new initiatives including high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
* Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and Sales teams on the development, Quality assurance, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organisation.
* Drive product launches including working with the public relations team, executives, and other product management/marketing team members.
* Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products and services.
* Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
Background & Skills
* A degree in business/product design/engineering or equivalent through relevant experience.
* Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software and/or hardware development.
* Experience in managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
* Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation skills.
* Effective communication and collaborative skills for highly effective cross-functional team management and customer engagement.
* Ability to build trust and influence others, so that people will support and follow through your decisions.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Critical thinker with the ability to make clear evidence-based decisions in short periods.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
* A good dose of business acumen.
