Salary: Pay per hour: currently £12.00 per hour
Pension Contribution: Eligible to join VAS (voluntary) pension scheme, with 6% employer and compulsory employee contribution, if applicable, subject to successful completion of probationary period (100 hours of work)

1. To ensure the premises are kept clean, tidy, welcoming and well-maintained.
2. To carry out more frequent and enhanced cleaning duties in line with COVID-19 government guidance in order to help prevent the transmission of the virus; following all H&S measures as directed.
3. To be aware of building occupancy levels and usage so that cleaning can be targeted where appropriate.
4. To work as part of the cleaning team to proactively improve the cleaning standards in the building.
5. To ensure that meeting, training rooms, offices, toilets and public areas are cleaned to a high standard.
6. To provide a professional, reliable, friendly and helpful service to all users of the building.
General Duties:
1. To carry out a more frequent and enhanced cleaning of surfaces throughout the building, paying particular attention to surfaces which are touched regularly.
2. To ensure effective and correct use of cleaning products (e.g. using disinfectant where needed; using correct concentration of products to obtain desired result; checking suitability of cleaning products on various surfaces).
3. To carry out routine daily and weekly cleaning schedules in offices, public areas, toilets, meeting rooms and kitchens e.g. vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing floors, removing stains from carpets; skirting boards, floor edges and windows.
4. To clean the toilets to a high standard, including toilet pans, urinals, wash basins, bins, floors and edges and ensure that supplies of toilet paper, hand soap, hand towels etc. are replenished.
5. To replenish hand sanitising stations located around the building and in conference/meeting rooms.
6. To clean meeting, training and conference rooms to a high standard, including table tops; white boards; chairs, trunking, window sills, skirting boards, carpets, carpet edges, bins and water machines and to ensure that such rooms are cleaned before their next use.
7. To support the Reception & Facilities Admin worker by correctly setting up meeting room furniture for events as required during busy times.
8. To clean the kitchen areas in accordance with the agreed work schedule.
9. To clean other areas as instructed.
10. To remove and dispose of all rubbish, waste and material for recycling properly.
11. To contribute to developing a deep cleaning programme, identifying specific areas in the building and carrying out specific deep cleaning tasks as part of a schedule.
12. To use all cleaning equipment and materials provided safely and in accordance with safe practices and procedures.
13. To maintain cleaning materials stock levels and keep cleaning cupboards tidy and well organised to assist with stock taking.
14. To be aware of any faults with equipment, material or the premises and report immediately to the Head of Facilities.
15. To comply with fire safety procedures, health and safety procedures and other statutory regulations.
16. To comply with arrangements for premises security and have regard for the personal safety of all staff and visitors.
17. To co-operate with specialist cleaning companies used in the thorough disinfectant process of COVID-19 or other virus contaminated areas of the building.
18. To respond courteously and professionally to building user enquiries, comments and complaints and to refer them to other building services staff as appropriate.
19. To support your colleagues and work as part of a friendly, helpful team – ensuring clear communication at all times.
20. To work flexibly to meet service requirements.
21. To attend team meetings and training sessions as appropriate.
22. To carry out other duties as required within the general scope of the post, subject to consultation with the post holder.
