Overview: Development role in a niche and fast-growing working capital business. Substantial development opportunity for a candidate, preferably with some background in finance, looking to acquire a broad knowledge of lending to SME clients. The business provides short term revolving facilities from £150k to £1.25m to trading businesses based in the UK. The Role: Full on-the-job training will be provided; this is a chance to join a business whose internal infrastructure is developing rapidly. The post holder will become involved in daily client operations, principally with the added opportunity to be involved with both marketing initiatives and business development. Day-to-day liaison with clients. Maintenance of ongoing financial covenants and lending conditions, including any periodic financial or stock reporting. Maintenance and credit control of client payment performance. Review of MI with summary to Directors and other senior staff. Scheduling and chasing overdue payments from clients. Checking of legal security and facility renewal. Occasional marketing and professional networking will be required. Assisting in the preparation of quotations for new business and credit applications. Assist when necessary with the maintenance of client records. Research organisations and individuals online to identify new leads and potential new markets. To go through old leads and engage with potential customers. Set up meetings between client decision-makers and business development managers. Develop and manage a database of business introducers and brokers. Contact potential clients via email and/or phone, follow up new business opportunities and arrange meetings. Assist in the planning of new marketing initiatives and attend conferences, meetings, and industry events with colleagues. Assist in the planning of pitches and, work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives. Qualifications: Preferably some work experience in banking or financial services sector. Requires excellent numeracy and literary skills - attention to detail is important. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. High level of work ethic is expected; out-of-office hours work may be required by exception.
