We service a wide variety of industries and clients, but our core business lies within juvenile products. The products we develop tend to reach production and launch into the market, so we see the fruits of our hard work. We strive for industrial design excellence and engineering quality in all our projects.
About the role:
As an experienced industrial designer, you will be expected to contribute to various phases of the product development process. This is a unique opportunity for a talented, motivated individual to join a company with big ambitions and an influx of projects to work on. We are seeking someone with proven ability, backed up by a portfolio of work from live projects.
As an industrial designer, you will work on projects for a broad range of international clients. You will apply your knowledge of beautiful form, brand and usability to conceptualise and develop innovative product solutions to a high level of design excellence. Creativity and presentation skill are critical for the position.
The role is predominantly based in our studio, with some work from home allowed. If you are a freelancer, we would ideally want you to be able to work in the studio some of the time.
Skills and Experience:
1. 4+ years industrial design experience within a studio or in-house
2. Proven ability to execute and deliver projects into the market
3. Outstanding sketch ability with a portfolio displaying your talent
4. Demonstratable skill at creating visually compelling concepts
5. Understanding of mass-manufacturing processes and their limitations
6. Strong CAD surfacing skills (ideally Solidworks)
7. Capable to work around mechanical constraints
8. An eye for the details, but able to see the big picture too
9. Able to take charge and manage projects, timelines and client communication
10. A team player, ready to share in the demands of a small business
11. Willingness to support and develop the skills of the younger design team members
Other requirements:
1. Must be a UK resident or possess a UK working visa
2. Valid passport and a willingness to travel overseas as and when a project requires
3. Clean driving license and own means of transport is essential due to our rural location.
