LB266 - Funeral Operative

Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Funeral Operative on behalf of one of our clients. The role involves driving and bearing on funerals with great respect, following clear instructions from the garage foreman and the funeral conductor. It is essential to respectfully move the deceased wherever required and to dress the deceased with extreme care and respect for families and friends to view.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Driving and bearing on funerals.
2. Removal of deceased from houses, nursing homes, and mortuaries.
3. Delivering and collecting coffins to and from airports.
4. Duty service according to rota.
5. Delivering and collecting various documents.
6. Dressing deceased in preparation for viewing.
7. Ensure vehicles are cleaned daily, and maintain oil, petrol, water, etc., at correct levels.
8. For the limos, ensure they have wreath card envelopes, mass envelopes, flowers, nursing home letter, and clean envelope; ensure you have enough song sheets.
9. For Greek funerals, take table, 2 towels, and 2 bottles of water.
10. If using a horse hearse, ensure you have trestles when going into the church or trolley if a casket.
11. Drivers must wear a cap and know the location of the church, house, or crematorium.
12. Have trolley, trestles, and if double funeral, 2 trolleys and trestles.
13. Ensure you have a sufficient number of shoulder pads, which must be used at all times to carry the coffin.
14. Check before you leave the garage that you are wearing appropriate attire.
