We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Band 6 sexual health & HIV nurses in John Hunter and Kobler outpatient clinics on a 12 month fixed term contract.
Working flexibly across both services the post holder will ensure that they provide a patient focused service at all times. You will be a current band 5 or band 6 with current experience in sexual health and/or HIV.
We are looking for someone who possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work and lead effectively a multidisciplinary team in across an innovative HIV and sexual health service.
The successful candidate will be able to autonomously manage the care of own caseload of patients within sexual health working with PGDs. Additionally they will have an opportunity to develop their HIV knowledge and experience within our HIV patient nurse-led Klick service.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical staff member, and team leader. They will have demonstrable clinical experience, provide sound clinical expertise to their team, and coordinate and deliver high quality care. They will be a role model for expert clinical care and lead on specific projects / management functions as delegated by the Charge Nurse, role modeling the identified Trust values at all times.
They will coordinate the clinical, managerial and educational requirements of the area, and be a role model for team members, whilst delivering and overseeing high standards of care. In specialist settings, they will have a significant level of specialist clinical knowledge and expertise in the clinical functions of care delivery. They will provide advice and guidance also, and generally be known as a senior staff nurse.
