Job Title: Practice Development Officer (Children’s Social Care) – Non-Case Holding Role
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – minimum 3 days on site per week)
Contract: 3-month minimum placement
Rate: £42 per hour (Ltd company status)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and registered Children’s Social Worker to join our Workforce Development Team in a non-case holding role. This position plays a key part in supporting and mentoring our learners, while driving forward high standards of practice across the service.
You will bring a solid background as a Practice Development Officer, with specific expertise in designing, developing, and leading the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the delivery of the ASYE programme, providing support and mentorship to newly qualified social workers.
* Design, develop, and implement robust learner programmes that support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of our social care workforce, including Apprenticeships and Step-Up to Social Work schemes.
* Act as a Practice Educator, supervising and mentoring both learners and fellow educators.
* Deliver high-quality, comprehensive training sessions, underpinned by expert knowledge of:
* Children’s legislation
* Case management
* Policies and procedures
* National and local practice frameworks
* Champion good practice across the organisation and contribute to the work of the Quality Assurance Service, including the completion of audits and service reviews.
Essential Criteria:
* Registered Children’s Social Worker (Social Work England)
* Prior experience as a Practice Development Officer
* Qualified Practice Educator
* Proven experience in supervising, mentoring, and supporting the professional development of social workers
* In-depth understanding of children’s social care legislation and statutory responsibilities
* Confident in delivering training and professional development programmes
* Ability to work flexibly on site (minimum 3 days per week) – must live locally within the Liverpool area
