This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to join our gynaecology team at UHD.
1. To provide a high standard of medical secretarial and administrative support to Women's Health Consultants and their teams, including managing electronic diary of appointments, word processing, filing, audiotyping, photocopying, and composition of letters, booking clinical appointments.
2. To deal with complex routine and non-routine queries from patients, visitors, clinicians, and other internal or external parties.
3. To receive and communicate difficult, sensitive, and confidential information, using tact and persuasion skills whilst communicating with anxious/distraught patients and relatives, often with language and communication difficulties.
4. To prepare appropriate responses and requests for Consultants and medical staff.
5. To be a focal point of contact for Gynaecology queries via email, phone, and in person.
The post holder must be IT literate and ideally familiar with hospital computer systems including eCamis, EPR, and Soliton. Previous secretary experience is essential.
Required qualities include: efficient, a capable communicator, audio typing experience, team player, organized, ability to prioritize own workload, maintain discretion, and work in a busy environment.
