Manpower is recruiting for a Lodge Porter. The Porters' Lodge operates 24 hours a day 365 days of the year, and provides a reception, telephone call handling, mail distribution, health and safety and security service for the College. As the first point of contact for visitors, the Lodge Porter is key to providing a professional service and welcome to the College.
The post-holder works as part of a team of six on a rotating shift pattern, which includes weekends, day and night shifts.\n\nDetails:\n\nPayrate - £13.20 per hour\nLocation - Oxford City Centre - no parking available\nShift pattern - The Lodge is open 24/7 We have 3 shifts now. The two main shift patterns are Day and Night, finishing and starting at 7am/7pm. It will mostly depend on things like events and formal dinners, when we anticipate heavy foot traffic and generally busy periods.\nTemp role - potential to go perm for the right person.Main duties:\n\nProvide assistance and information to all visitors to the Lodge\nOperate the College telephone switchboard.\nEnsure that the College's security procedures are followed as laid down in the Lodge Instruction Manual(s) which are reviewed from time to time\nOperate and monitor the College's CCTV surveillance equipment.\nChecking in of guests and receiving cash or card payments.\nReceive, sort and distribute all incoming mail, including internal, Royal Mail and University courier mail items.\nReceive and despatch outgoing mail from Centres and Departments, including internal, Royal Mail and University courier mail items.\nRe-direct mail to current and ex-members of the College.Desirable:\n\nRecent relevant experience\nFront of house / reception experience\nSecurity experienceApply today and we will be in touch
