• Some knowledge of health and safety legislation (including COSHH regulations, manual handling, and food hygiene procedures) and requirements in relation to food preparation

Further details about the role
• Supporting the Kitchen Manager in assisting with all aspects of the preparation and presentation of our school lunches
• Preparation of the cutlery, plates and cups for use
• Ensuring that all service counters are prepared and replenished during service - and clear down after service
• You may be required to assist with setting up the dining hall (and sweep and mop after service)
• Keeping the kitchen environment clean and tidy at all times, including washing all kitchen & catering equipment, surfaces and floors
• Unloading of food and beverage deliveries as required
• Food storage in accordance with outlined standards
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, washing up and keeping the kitchen and equipment clean
• There will be other kitchen and catering duties which may be considered necessary for the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen, service area and dining area
• You will be expected to comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations
