East Renfrewshire is looking to appoint a Depute Principal Educational Psychologist who will work with the Principal Educational Psychologist to lead and manage a motivated and dynamic Educational Psychology Service. The service is highly valued within the Education Department and contributes to the delivery of a range of outcomes within strategic priorities such as equality and inclusion, teacher professionalism, nurture, children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, prevention and early intervention and GIRFEC.
The successful candidate will lead specific areas of the service’s strategic work within the authority and will have generic responsibility for a group of educational establishments. She or he will also contribute to the provision of an excellent and equitable educational psychology service for East Renfrewshire Council, in accordance with statutory duties, relevant legislation and local authority policy and the standards of conduct, performance and ethics of the HCPC.
Candidates must have an honours degree in psychology and post graduate training in educational psychology and be registered as an educational psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record and experience of leading aspects of educational psychology practice and strategic development initiatives within Education and Children’s Service. They should be fully committed to applying psychology to improve outcomes for the most vulnerable children and young people.
