Your responsibilities
will include:
1. Working closely with the people we support to develop and implement individualised easy read versions of their care documentation to promote co-production.
2. Completing speech and language assessment tools and analysing results (with support from the SLT)
3. Creating and maintaining the bank of Communication related documentation for the region
4. Supporting with staff training & development
5. Providing high quality written reports (supervised by the SLT)
6. Attending regular clinical and service development meetings
7. Being an integral part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team
8. Contributing to audit and research
9. Carry out these duties in consultation and under supervision of the Regional Lead Speech and Language Therapist and contribute to the maintenance and development of a high-quality Speech and Language Therapy service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
10. Experience of working with people in a similar or related field relevant to the post
11. Knowledge of communication approaches
12. Have a good understanding of the legal frameworks that are relevant to the role (e.g. Mental Capacity Act)
13. Literacy and technology skills to be able to create reports and utilise specialised communication aid software.
14. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
