The Role:
The role will provide support for the specialist field teams working across Sussex. Experience of leakage control and network operations is key, with the ability to work in a team or as an individual, guide and coach a team for the right outcome and/or solution.
P.N. Daly Ltd is looking for an individual who wants to join a flexible, versatile team, and bring energy and drive to work within and support an operational team.
Managing the delivery of planned levels of service to the customer and improving the capability and effectiveness of the wider Leakage team, including leakage surveys, night surveys, DMA isolations, step testing, district validation, valve integrity, and pressure tests. Data analysis and detailed interrogation of flow and pressure data covering Sussex.

Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday 19:00 – 05:30 & 07:30-16:00.
Salary:
£28,000-£35,000 dependant on experience (6-month probationary period) + night allowance.
Requirements:
1. Individuals with a minimum of 3 years in Water Leakage Management.
2. Minimum GCSE pass grades / time-served experience.
3. Relevant Network Experience.
4. A full driving licence.
5. Operation of assets on mains.
6. Carrying out distribution main isolation.
7. Conducting Pressure, Flow, or Noise data logging.
8. Experience in Step testing.
9. Familiarity with DMA integrity tests.
10. Clean water quality sampling, such as chlorine and turbidity readings, with an understanding of sampling frequency.
11. Experience of working with skilled employees at differing levels.
12. Extensive experience of working in a multi-faceted Leakage operational environment, with a proven ability to develop, optimise, and ultimately implement culture and performance improvements.
13. A thorough technical knowledge of ALC activities and Network Operations.
14. Experienced in all aspects of International Leakage Techniques and District Metered Area management.
15. Understanding of hydraulics, valve operation, pressure, flow, and leakage monitoring/control/data analytics.
16. Computer literate with corporate software packages and a good knowledge of Microsoft Teams/Excel/Word is essential.
17. Familiarity with mobile working technology.
18. Knowledge of Health and Safety management & requirements.
19. Coaching skills.
Tasks:
1. Valve operations on the network.
2. Calm network adherence at all times.
3. Ensure that adequate records are kept and submitted correctly to satisfy the requirements of the Contract/Management team, Head Office, and Client.
4. Achieve detection targets/support reduction detection model.
5. Identify UFW on the network.
6. Property identification e.g., prop count.
7. Quantify leaks.
8. Support your overall team by carrying out strategic shuts on the network to quantify leaks and CSLs.
9. Data logging customer meters.
10. Gang assist support - improve gang support/learning feedback/on-site training.
11. Identify/feedback any training issues.
12. Implement new trials.
13. Trialing of new technology/equipment.
14. Assist failing techs with support to enable them to achieve targets.
15. All paperwork to be submitted on time.
16. Training feedback.
17. Backfill any gaps in the team if required.
18. Support for Supervisors.
19. Ensure you are fully compliant and working to the red book.
20. Promote the use and adoption of different leakage approaches and techniques i.e., Hydrophones, Enigma logger, Groundmics etc.
21. Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reduction targets are achieved across the team.
22. Promote and maintain client focus, ensuring that client requirements are identified and met.
23. Understand and implement the company’s policies and procedures, and ensure that all personnel appreciate their responsibilities and accountability within the policies/procedures.
