Description The Role We are currently seeking Skilled Groundworkers to join our expanding team and support both new and existing contracts across Devon and Cornwall. As a skilled operative, you will undertake a range of hands-on tasks, often working as part of a team, and applying your technical knowledge to deliver high-quality service. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the laying of kerbs and new drainage lines to specified lines and levels Shovelling and laying on-site materials Digging trenches, compacting, and backfilling holes Mixing and applying concrete-based materials Maintaining a tidy site environment throughout the project Loading and unloading materials and equipment Leading by example and supporting other operatives on-site Assisting 1st and 2nd level operatives when required To find out more please take a look at the role profile About You We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria: A valid UK driving licence with experience driving 3.5t and 7.5t vehicles (depending on licence) A valid CSCS card (essential) Strong understanding of health and safety protocols Previous experience in civil engineering, construction, or groundworks (essential) Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions NRSWA qualification (preferred) Experience with small powered equipment, such as disc cutters, petrol breakers, and wacker plates (advantageous) Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours, including overtime Willingness to learn and grow within the company Additional qualifications such as a roller, excavator, or HGV licence, and New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) certification would be highly advantageous. Salary: £35,052 - £37,743 (dependant on experience) Working Hours: 45 hour working week (Monday To Friday, weekend working where needed, and also some night working as and when) Overtime available Contract Type: Permanent Base: Working on sites across Exeter, Plymouth, Barnstable, Bideford.
