The Role
As the Lead Project Engineer (Aftermarket Systems) you will be the escalation point for infield issues and lead cross functional teams to contain and resolve them. You will also be responsible for the definition, development, testing and delivery of the Serviceability of Sunswap’s core technology. You will play a major role in the development of the Sunswap product range.
Responsibilities:
* Be a key voice of the customer and have influential impact of the long term design of the endurance product
* Lead comprehensive investigations to identify the root causes of technical issues.
* Develop, implement, and validate permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurring issues, ensuring long-term fleet reliability and performance.
* Partner with service providers to align on diagnostics, containment strategies, and the implementation of corrective actions, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.
* Develop and oversee immediate containment measures with service providers to minimise downtime while permanent fixes are deployed.
* Optimise the design for serviceability for long term impact to fleet reliability
* Establish, document, and train service provider partners on standardised processes for diagnosing, addressing, and preventing system issues, fostering a proactive and unified approach.
* Promote and implement engineering best practices and processes via mentorship/training team
Requirements:
* A degree in electrical, systems, automotive, aerospace engineering or equivalent or strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and ability to understand complex systems
* Experience in automotive / transport / motorsport / electrical systems, complying with industry standards, safety processes and certification.
* Hands on experience with live customer products
* An understanding of good engineering practices and problem-solving techniques.
* An understanding of system-level engineering and the interaction between digital, electrical and mechanical systems.
* Experience with CAD and reviewing design standards
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to interpret/execute written instructions as well as work collaboratively as part of a wider team across the business
* A ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work within the timescales set through the SLA’s
* The ability to design and provide solutions to a wide range of complex problems
* A passion for the environment and being a force for good
* Proven ability to prioritise and manage your time
