SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (PMLD / ASD / ADHD)

Long Term Futures are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with complex needs at one of our partner mainstream primary schools. The pupil has profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), a history of cerebral palsy secondary to a brain injury at birth, epilepsy, a recent ADHD diagnosis, and is currently being assessed for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You'll be providing 1:1 support within the classroom, working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and wider support team.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 child with complex SEN, including physical needs
- Assist with personal care and mobility as required
- Use tailored strategies to support learning and emotional regulation
- Support with speech, communication, and sensory needs
- Monitor and contribute to progress reports and EHCP updates
- Work collaboratively with staff, therapists, and family to ensure consistent support
- Maintain a calm, nurturing environment that promotes trust and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
- Has experience supporting children with PMLD, ASD, ADHD, or physical disabilities
- Comfortable assisting with personal care and medical needs where required
- Confident working closely with professionals and external agencies
- A patient, empathetic team player with strong communication skills
- Familiar with the UK primary curriculum and inclusive strategies
