Accredited under the UKAS ISO 15189 standards, the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust Molecular Pathology Department provides quantitative immunohistochemistry, Fluorescence in-situ hybridisation and detection of gene mutations for various targets directly associated with determining suitable patient treatments. There are current plans to expand the service, in which the post holder will be involved in implementing into the repertoire.
Additionally the post holder will be the Section Lead for the IHC/FISH section of the department and will liaise with senior staff on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the service.
Previous experience in immunohistochemistry is essential for the successful candidate to integrate quickly in to a busy service. Previous experience with FISH is not mandatory but will be an advantage

You will be an enthusiastic and a motivated team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a minimum of five years post-registration experience in a cellular pathology or molecular pathology (2 of which will have been at a band 6 level) and demonstrate active interest in your Continued Professional Development. You will have an advanced qualification or being actively working towards one with an expectation of graduation within 12 months of appointment.
