MHE Trainer
Main Purpose of The Position:
1. The MHE Instructor will be responsible for the planning, training, and certifying employees to the ITTSAR Standard, traveling across all of our UK facilities and working across all shifts when required.
2. The MHE Instructor will be responsible for the development of training programs and for the planning of the training requirements with Managers at each site.
You must have the ability to use Word & Excel and be able to work unsupervised, use initiative, and manage your own time within a busy fast-paced environment.
Core Duties:
1. Coordinate with Supervisors and Managers to identify training needs.
2. Develop and plan training schedules and resources to meet individual training requirements.
3. Deliver hands-on and classroom training for operators of MHE, ensuring proper techniques and safety practices are followed, then completing assessments and issuing certifications in accordance with ITTSAR standards.
4. Evaluate the trainee's performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance skills.
5. Update and complete the Monthly Control Towers to indicate training completed.
6. Act as a resource to Leadership teams and employees, answering questions and providing guidance on equipment and environment safe use and general safety.
7. Assist the EHS Business Partners in MHE Accidents and Incidents.
8. Complete audits on MHE Driving standards and Driver behaviour.
9. Assess risks and make recommendations for improved safety practices.
10. Undertake relevant training and licences to ensure your knowledge and skills remain up to date and the needs of the business are maintained.
11. Support the assessments of new or temporary drivers when required.
12. Train in other qualifications if applicable, such as Banks Person, Cranes, Grinding Wheels, Manual Handling.
13. Travel to other Business Units and Supplier Visits as required.
14. Take on additional 'reasonable' duties as business needs change.
Min Requirement for Role Attainment:
1. The successful candidate will preferably be ITSSAR and RTITB (or equivalent) instructor trained with a valid licence, ideally including certification to train FLTs, VNA, and pedestrian trucks.
2. Knowledge to complete training requirements for A1, A2, A4, A5, B1, B2, B3, F1, F2, and Banksman.
3. Previous experience of training and carrying out assessments with people to use Material Handling Equipment within a business or training provider.
4. Health and Safety knowledge along with capability in carrying out risk assessments.
5. Self-driven, passionate, enthusiastic individual with the ability to influence, build, and maintain key relationships at all levels.
6. IT literate, especially in Microsoft Excel and Word packages.
7. Full UK driving licence essential with the ability to work across all our plants and shift patterns to meet business needs.
