About the Role:We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in the Leeds Moortown area to provide personalized care for a service user in her late twenties. We provide a competitive rate of £12/hour. As a support worker, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the service user's quality of life. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the service user in her daily activities, promoting her independence and well-being.
* Engaging with the service user through playful interactions and making her feel comfortable.
* Assisting the service user during outings to places she enjoys, such as Eureka in Halifax, the Media and Science Museum in Bradford, and the City water park in Bradford.
* Ensuring the service user's safety at all times, especially during public transport and community outings.
* Encouraging the service user to engage in sensory activities with pens, pencils, and crayons, which she enjoys.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support for the service user during her scheduled activities and outings.
* Be attentive to the service user's non-verbal cues and guide her to what she needs or where she wants to go.
* Ensure the service user is never left unattended and maintain a close presence to prevent any potential risks.
* Support the service user in social settings, helping her interact with others and enjoy her surroundings.
* Be mindful of the service user's preferences and needs, such as her love for perfumes and sensory items.
Requirements:To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and Complex Care needs.
* Must have at least 6 months UK care experience and Right to work in the UK.
* An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service – Should you need to apply for a new DBS we can support you with this.
* An up-to-date CV with all employment history.
* To be able to commit to an assignment, to ensure structure and stability for the service user.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and an understanding approach.
* Availability: Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
