International Trade Compliance Officer Duration: 6 Months (potential of extension) Hourly Rates: £20.79 - £28.59 PAYE / £27.45 - £37.74 umbrella Position Overview for the International Trade Compliance Officer We are seeking an experienced International Trade Compliance Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team. This role for the International Trade Compliance Officer will be instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance across the aerospace and defence operations, with a focus on controlled products and technology. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee critical trade compliance documentation and procedures within the International Trade Compliance (ITC) team Execute product classification in accordance with multiple regulatory frameworks including UKML, Dual-Use, USML, ECCN, and EAR Process and maintain UK export licensing applications including OGELs, OIELs, and SIELs Serve as primary liaison with UK authorities (HMRC/BIS/ECJU) for licence applications and queries Conduct regular internal audits to ensure documentation accuracy and procedural compliance Monitor and interpret regulatory changes regarding embargoed/sanctioned countries and assess business impact Oversee UK defence requirements and exhibition clearances Manage compliance with import/export regulations, ITAR, EAR, and Dual Use regulations Coordinate MOD F680s, US export authorisations, TAAs, and MLAs applications Maintain and approve travel authorisation processes Review and process Technical Authorisation Transfer Forms Required Qualifications for the International Trade Compliance Officer: Proven experience in trade compliance within the Defence/Aerospace industry Comprehensive knowledge of UK import/export requirements for defence products Strong understanding of ITAR and EAR regulations and their UK implications Commercial awareness and business acumen Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Strong project management and organizational abilities Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder managementDesired Skills & Experience: Previous experience in a customer-focused business environment Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities independently Track record of achieving business objectives and targets Commercial background complementing trade compliance expertise Experience with international trade documentation and processesWhat our client can offer: Professional development and growth opportunities Competitive salary and benefits package Collaborative and innovative work environment If you would like to find out more or alternatively make an application for this fantastic job opportunity, apply today Due to the volume of applications we receive, unfortunately we are not able to respond to every application personally, therefore, if you have not heard back from us within 5 working days please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
