We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a permanent, full time position.
Would you like to join an innovative, proactive, friendly and supportive team?
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Paediatric Nurse to join the Paediatric Complex Nutrition Service as a band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a full time (37 hours) post delivered over 5 days with core hours being between 9 am - 5 pm Monday to Friday and is a substantive post. Core working hours will require flexibility to meet the needs of the service. 20% of your working week will include back to the floor working within a clinical area which can be arranged with your team leader. Your primary responsibility will be providing comprehensive holistic assessment, care and support of infants, children and young people with complex nutritional care needs within all wards and departments in the Women and Children’s directorate, and within the community setting.
Our vision will focus on the avoidance of hospital admissions and early facilitated discharge of patients who have complex nutritional care needs. You will support patients at home and within the acute setting prioritising safety and professionalism grounded in evidence based practice.
We are seeking an experienced nurse who will embrace this dynamic opportunity. The post holder should possess knowledge of the management of patients with complex nutritional care needs, including the care of enteral feeding devices including NG, NJ, Gastrostomy and Gastro-jejunal tubes. The post holder should be fully trained in the administration of Intravenous medications and fluids via Central Venous Access Devices. They will be required to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team. This will involve working across professional and organisational boundaries in partnership with other acute and community care nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and senior management teams. The applicant should possess the ability to prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused, and be flexible in an extremely busy environment.
