Job Description
Our client is a well established manufacturing business based in the outskirts of Belfast (South), and are currently on the marker for an experienced Buyer to join their Purchasing team.
Responsibilities:
· Source suitable suppliers, negotiating acceptable terms.
· Draft tender documents, supply agreements and purchase orders.
· Seek out methods of cost reduction in order to attain cost reduction targets.
· Monitor and evaluate suppliers in terms of cost, quality and delivery on an on-going basis.
· Continuously benchmarking consumables across suppliers.
Criteria :
· A minimum of two A-Levels grade C or above (or equivalent) OR alternatively 5 years relevant experience
· Studying for CIPS OR prepared to study for CIPS
· 2 years purchasing experience.
· Strong IT and data analysis skills.
Desirable:
· A degree qualification in Business or Engineering
· CIPS qualified
· Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems
· Previous contract management experience
Salary is up to £38k depending upon experience. Benefits include pension, excellent holidays and an early Friday finish.
