We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant with medication training to join our care team in Leicester. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our elderly residents, always ensuring their safety and well-being. Your role will involve offering support with activities of daily living, administering medications, and collaborating with the management staff to ensure effective care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide personalised care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
2. Administer medication in accordance with established protocols, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety guidelines.
3. Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, promoting residents' independence and dignity.
4. Monitor residents' observations, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and resident observations, contributing to the continuity of care.
6. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement individual care plans, following residents' specific healthcare requirements.
7. Provide support and guidance to care staff, ensuring they deliver care in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards.
8. Promote a positive and supportive environment for residents, communicating with empathy and respect.
9. Act as a point of contact for residents' families, answering their questions and addressing any concerns.
10. Participate in training and development programs, staying updated on best practices and current regulations in elderly care.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant or equivalent role in a care home setting.
2. Medication training and the ability to administer medication accurately and safely.
3. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
5. Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to improve the lives of elderly individuals.
6. Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and cope with changing priorities.
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings if required.
