We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our architecture team. Ideally you will have a background in Financial Services or Insurance and will be able to work with service, engineering and delivery colleagues to support the implementation significant technology programmes. The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and also from our Halifax office. What will I be doing? Designing data structures, integrations, & architecture patterns aligned with business needs and strategy for rapid solution delivery Acting as the design authority, ensuring adherence to architecture standards & the Target Architecture Contributing to the development of the Target Architecture & supporting high-profile, complex projects Developing or leveraging subject matter expertise to support design & architecture efforts Driving solution adoption by building consensus, supporting delivery teams, & resolving constraints Ensuring project architecture meets business objectives, technical requirements, & agreed-upon customer requirements Operating within governance processes, ensuring architecture deliverables address design challenges and comply with roadmaps, standards, & principle You should apply if you have… Expertise in designing data-centric solutions at conceptual, logical, & physical levels Skills in data analysis, modelling, and maintaining enterprise & solution-level data models Proficiency with structured & unstructured data, and experience with relational & graph databases Knowledge of cloud & on-prem Data Warehouse, Data Lake, & Lakehouse architectures Understanding of cloud architecture, operations, automation, & cost management – some cloud/data architect certifications (AWS & Azure) preferred Experience communicating complex ideas to non-technical audiences, and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels Ability to identify & address complex business challenges & opportunities across information, people, processes, & technology Customer-focused & commercially astute, with a drive to enhance the customer experience & present strategic concepts in a business context Excellent communication skills & a strong team player, with experience in a fast-paced, multi-channel organisation, ideally in the finance sector We understand that some candidates may be hesitant to apply for a position if they do not meet all the criteria listed in the job description.
