An exciting opportunity has arisen within to join an established Engineering Team for a Locomotive Reliability Engineer. Across the world, we manufacture, maintain, and overhaul diesel-electric locomotives. As a Locomotive Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in the continuous improvement of our FSP fleet performance through the proactive provision of data-driven information. You will generate reports and troubleshooting guidance to reduce failures, downtime, and unscheduled events while increasing reliability and availability. Responsibilities:
1. Proactively monitor and review the Uptime locomotive fleet to identify improvement opportunities.
2. Continually develop the system to improve performance.
3. Develop Predictive Maintenance rules to identify locomotive issues that could impact locomotive performance.
4. Analyze fleet fault trends and participate in engineering root cause investigations.
5. Carry out technical services, including fault finding, repair, overhaul, and modification activities as necessary.
6. Provide locomotive troubleshooting direction.
7. Create troubleshooting procedures based on issues observed while monitoring locomotives.
8. Travel as required to perform field problem investigation, in the UK and internationally.
9. Coordinate and consult with various departments to gather information to address locomotive failures.
10. Participate in customer conference calls to provide daily troubleshooting feedback and monthly performance reports.
11. Build relationships with PRS Inc. personnel in the USA and provide technical support in both directions.
12. Provide data to the business to make informed decisions.
13. Consistently deliver high standards of Engineering services for Electro Motive and its customers.
14. Adhere to and comply with the Company's Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental Policies at all times.
What we would love you to bring to the role of a Locomotive Reliability Engineer:
1. Knowledge and Experience:
2. Excellent understanding of the class 66 & 69 and their systems.
3. Detailed knowledge of company products, particularly electrical/electronic systems and its associated components including EM2000 and software.
4. Able to demonstrate a logical, analytical, and objective approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis.
5. Demonstrable experience of data analysis and presentation.
6. A clear understanding of risk and mitigation.
7. Ability to meet people at all levels with ease and confidence, understanding and accommodating the needs of the customer.
8. Ability to develop competencies and expertise in both self and others to gain a satisfactory standard and deliver results within agreed timescales.
9. Non-confrontational when handling or involved in conflict situations and able to adopt a passive and non-demanding working ethic to achieve agreed and acceptable standards and timescales.
10. Able to be assertive and make decisions in a timely manner.
11. Self-starter with a proactive approach to delivering targets to the highest standards.
12. Well organized with a thorough, disciplined, and detailed approach to task completion.

15. Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
Essential Qualifications:
* Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
* BTEC National Certificate /ONC in Engineering or European equivalent
* MS Excel competence.
* Driving license
* Personal Track Safety (desirable)
* Safety Critical experience (desirable)
* ERP experience (desirable)
* Commercial appreciation including OPACC (desirable)
