We currently have a vacancy for an Engineers Mate (2nd Man), Warehouse/Yard Person role.
The role will involve the daily running of the warehouse, maintaining stock levels, checking in deliveries, and ensuring that parts/spares are available for the engineers.
Keeping the workshop and yard clean and tidy.
The successful candidate will be trained to assist with confined space entries and second man site works, with the opportunity to progress to trainee engineer. There is also the possibility to train on relevant electrical courses in the future for the right person.
The ability to work as either part of a team or on your own using your own initiative is essential.
To liaise with the office to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner and are available for the engineers.
Ensuring that report sheets are available for the engineers and all information on previous visits – identifying if any additional parts/work are required.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
* Be able to identify engineering parts and monitor and control stock – training will be given.
* Occasional requirements to make deliveries and collect parts; therefore, the ability to drive a transit van is required.
* Keep the warehouse and yard clean and tidy, maintaining the overall appearance of the external area.
* Manage the skips on site, ensuring that materials are correctly disposed of in the appropriate skips to maximize recycling possibilities.
* Good verbal and written communication skills to enable liaison with the Engineers and Office Staff to ensure parts are ordered and available in a timely and efficient manner.
The position is full-time (8.00 – 4.30 Monday - Friday) after a 3 month trial period.
The role will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Requirements:
* A full driving licence and ability to drive a transit van.
* Methodical and organised, able to work on own initiative.
* Good communication skills.
* Computer literate.
* Good listener and team player.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to £14.00 per hour
