Safeguarding Officer Role
A Safeguarding Officer is required to provide a high-quality, responsive service to students facing welfare and safeguarding issues, in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a first point of contact for students on safeguarding related concerns, providing confidential information and advice.
* Monitor and manage safeguarding referrals through ProMonitor, ensuring timely and responsive interventions in line with child protection legislation and statutory guidance.
* Ensure accurate recording and storage of child protection records relating to student safeguarding information, in line with statutory guidance.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, particularly those at risk of leaving their course or failing to achieve, to offer assistance and support.
Requirements
* Recent experience in a Safeguarding role in an education or community setting.
* Experience working in a post-16 educational environment.
* Experience managing safeguarding cases.
* Safeguarding Level 3 qualification.
* General education at level 3 or above.
* Good working knowledge of confidentiality, child protection, data protection, and anti-discriminatory/ oppressive practice.
