Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northwest, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021, Mears had over 19,000 service users across the three regions. Mears works in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords, and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing, and create specialist housing for people with care needs.
About the Role:
As a Housing Manager, the main role will be managing property portfolios, ensuring safeguarding and welfare of all residents are fully considered. You will be moving service users in and out of properties and ensuring all risks are flagged to management. It is key to work collaboratively with Welfare Support Officers and the service delivery centre to deliver a seamless service meeting the individual and property needs of all our service users. It is very important as a Housing Manager to conduct regular inspections to ensure full contractual compliance and successful outcomes of all Key Performance Indicators, internal and commercial targets are met. All records and IT data on systems are updated with accurate and up-to-date information.
There is an expectation that any candidates will need to undertake OOH duties. This includes being on ‘standby’. This is paid at £30 per weekday and £50 for weekend days. There may be a requirement to attend properties/service users during OOH. This is paid at x 1.5.
Role Criteria:
* Previous experience of managing housing portfolios
* Previous experience working with vulnerable or diverse client groups
* Commitment to put the customer at the heart of the service to deliver a great user experience to a diverse client group
* Process-driven candidates with great attention to detail and meticulous record keeping evidenced by maintaining accurate information on IT systems
* Performance culture and collaborative working to effectively manage and escalate risk
* Full UK driving license
