My client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join their Quality Department. The role ensures product components meet design requirements through accurate and timely inspections. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of purchased goods at supplier premises and upon receipt, completing necessary reports. Inspect in-house manufactured components, during build, final assembly, and returned machines, with appropriate documentation. Perform dimensional checks for investigative purposes and maintain accurate records. Calibrate measuring instrumentation (e.g., micrometers, verniers, pressure gauges) and maintain calibration records and procedures. Monitor and report on the temperature control of the Standards room. Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Line Manager. Education / Qualification Requirements: Essential: BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline. Experience and Knowledge Requirements: Essential: Experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in using and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). Knowledge of calibration methods for mechanical tooling. Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment. Familiarity with company IT systems. Skills and Competencies: Essential: Self-motivated with a drive to succeed. Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experienced in using inspection equipment (e.g., micrometers, depth gauges, verniers). Proficient in CMM usage and Microsoft Office packages. Attention to detail and ability to meet challenging deadlines. Team player with decision-making skills. Desirable: Experience in creating and managing information in databases.
