Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor

The role:
This warehouse and logistics position is key to organising the storage and distribution of goods within Linea Research and onwards to customers across the globe. In this role you will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time. You will also be involved in supervising a small team, managing stock control, warehousing and kitting.
This role will work closely with multiple internal departments such as; Purchasing, Marketing, Quality, Sales, third party couriers haulage and freight forwarders. You will also engage with customers and suppliers visiting site. The hours are 8:30am–5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
General Position Summary
* Process raw material components ready for production and assist with receiving goods into stock
* Ensure that work orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with the production or delivery plan
* Manage a small team ensuring targets are met and remain focussed on priorities whilst always putting health and safety first
* Provide support and maintain good relationship with productions, sales/Marketing, Research and Development, Operations, Engineering teams and their management
Goods Inwards Inspection
* Maintain receipt records using Enterprise Resources Planning systems against purchase orders
* Pick and issue all material (kitting) to pick notes, and the return of rejected items from production
* Monitor material shortages and notify the purchasing team in a timely manner
* Record delivered items accurately using Enterprise Resources Planning systems
* Ensure items are stored safely within the warehouse maintaining the correct physical location and updated on Enterprise Resources Planning systems
* Work with the Quality Manager when materials arrive damaged or not within specifications
Warehouse Responsibilities
* Ensure items are stored safely within the warehouse maintaining the correct physical location and updating Enterprise Resources Planning systems
* Ensure stored goods are labelled and easy to find within the racking areas
* Use packing procedures to assist in packing items
* Ensure cartons are accurately labelled for logistics companies to collect as specified by Sales Administration/Service team and other departments
* Manage cycle counting and other ad-hoc counts of raw material component inventory
* Manage a team of people during year end stock counting in conjunction with the Finance team and external auditors
Supervisory Responsibilities
* Supervise a small team to ensure they are fully aware of the priorities, shortages of products and feedback to them regularly so they are fully supported and trained to carry out their job
* Ensure that the team respect and follow all required Health and Safety measures whilst working
* Collaborate with HR to resolve any potential issues with absence, performance or conduct
Health & Safety
* Ensure employees and the warehouse areas and mezzanine conform to current Health & Safety requirements
* Ensure the car park area is safe for third party, public and visitors
* Use forklift trucks safely to protect all employees and members of the public inside and outside the premises
* Work closely with the Health & Safety representatives for the Company and Group of Companies
* Keep corridors and escape routes clear of obstructions
Security
* Ensure the premises are secure during daytime operations
* Stay with all couriers/drivers for goods being delivered or despatched to maintain the security of stock within the warehouse and the safety of employees
* Be responsible for the opening and overnight locking up process within the warehouse/service department
* Provide appropriate access to buildings in the event of snow or minor flooding or similar emergency situations
* Control access of contractors and other authorised persons as necessary
Ad-Hoc
* Carry out duties as required by the Management team
* General housekeeping and cleanliness of the warehouse area
* Ensure all recycling and general waste is stored correctly and available for collection at the suitable time
* May be required to provide key holder cover out of hours
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills required:
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Outlook, Word and Office 365
* Strong experience using Enterprise Resources Planning systems
* Competent and qualified to use counterbalance and reach forklift trucks
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work well within a team and support a team to ensure everyone work harmoniously
* Attention to detail
