Vehicle Technician Hourly Rate: £17.60 Location: Leicester Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. This role involves carrying out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, plants, and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Day-to-day of the role: Conduct vehicle, plant, and equipment inspections, servicing, test preparations, fault diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs Complete all necessary written or computerised records, including descriptions of work carried out, parts used, and time taken Interpret information from drivers and equipment users, provide actionable advice, and give feedback on completed work Perform miscellaneous tasks associated with the vehicle technician role Required Skills & Qualifications: Mandatory MOT Tester Certificate. High level of communication and listening skills. Relevant health & safety training for a vehicle maintenance workshop. Proficient in using workshop ICT systems, vehicle diagnostics, and electronic job cards. Skilled in diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, including identifying necessary parts and equipment. Ability to accurately record work and complete job sheets. Knowledge of welding and ability to perform minor repairs using appropriate techniques is desirable. Recognised industry apprenticeship or a Level 3 qualification in light/heavy vehicle or plant engineering.
