What you will be doing
1. Working alongside the Service manager to ensure a safe service for the people we support and our colleagues.
2. Supporting the Service manager to ensure the service is compliant with legislation, Cartrefi’s policies and procedures, and to ensure quality standards.
3. Providing leadership and management to the team, monitoring performance, and engaging with supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings.
4. Developing, promoting, and ensuring the effective delivery of person-centred, outcomes-focused support to service users.
5. Respecting, safeguarding, and enabling each person as an individual with the right to expect autonomy, choice, and privacy.
6. Managing the service in the absence of the Service Manager and reporting to the Area manager/on-call manager where appropriate.
7. Undertaking support duties in line with the needs of the people we support, working shifts as directed by the rota including sleep-ins and waking nights as required.
8. Committing to personal development, attending training when required and seeking development opportunities.
What you will need
1. Great communication skills.
2. Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities in a social care setting.
3. QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
4. Passion for supporting people to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential.
5. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of confidentiality and privacy.
6. Good understanding of health and safety legislation and management in a social care setting.
7. Working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
8. Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
9. A full clean driving license and willingness to travel for meetings and training.
