We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team to lead multidisciplinary project teams in profitably delivering development and design projects. You will be responsible for the technical, contractual, financial and programme performance of these projects.
You will have responsibility for administrative and junior members of the team (as required) as well as mentoring and training other members of staff.
The work will be office-based with travel for meetings, workshops, and site visits (as required).
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Project Management (core)
1. Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary project team to deliver the scope of work on time and to budget (with profitable outcomes).
2. Lead on H&S and CDM for projects.
3. Look after the client’s needs.
4. Manage the contract and variations. Minimise risk to the company by supporting negotiating contract terms and conditions.
5. Manage the invoicing process.
6. Engage (via direct allocation or mini-competitive tender event) and manage subcontractors as required.
7. Plan and lead the site visit and survey strategies.
8. Prepare and manage the Project Programme(s).
• Tendering
1. Develop new client relationships and opportunities.
2. Lead new project tenders or quotes, including the preparation of tender documents and costs and programmes.
• People Management/Staff Development
1. Lead, mentor and develop assigned direct reports. Provide feedback to your line manager on your team’s needs.
2. Line management duties and approvals.
3. Lead team meetings.
4. Conduct monthly one-to-ones.
5. Conduct annual staff appraisal.
• Quality Systems and Health & Safety
1. Internal business reporting on key project performance metrics.
2. Ensure all Quality, Environmental and Safety Documentation is prepared and issued in accordance with company procedures.
3. Prepare and maintain documentation to comply with all company procedures and health and safety legislation.
4. Liaise with company document controller to ensure that all company documentation such as standards, supplier’s literature, and technical catalogues, client documentation, purchase order lists, and sub-contractor services are kept up-to-date.
5. Undertake risk assessments and safety audits and sensible monitoring in line with relevant safety legislation, health and safety systems and procedures.
• General
1. Additionally, you may also have to work on other works related to other LSTC departments.
2. Carry out reasonable duties as directed by the Directors.
3. Willing to work at other LSTC or Client Offices as required.
4. Contribute within the Company to our Health and Safety culture.
5. Deliver exceptional customer service to all customers.
6. Build an outstanding working relationship with LSTC teams and Clients.
7. Core activities take place in an office environment.
8. You will be provided with all PPE necessary for you to undertake your work safely.
9. You will be required to attend any site briefings or Principal Contractor site inductions prior to entering a site environment and carry out site specific risk assessments to ensure your wellbeing and the safety of yourself and others.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Qualifications
* Suitable engineering or town planning related degree or equivalent.
• Experience
* Minimum 7 years relevant transmission and distribution design or delivery project experience.
* Development Consent Order (or similar) or linear infrastructure planning experience, desirable but not essential.
* OHL, cable, or substation design experience, desirable but not essential.
* Professional chartership, desirable but not essential.
* NEC contract knowledge, desirable but not essential.
