Established in 1989, with five regional depots in the UK, our client is a respected plant-hire supplier to a variety of industry sectors such as construction, rail & events. They are at the leading edge of the development of off-grid power solutions including power and charging solutions for battery powered equipment as well as the latest in hydrogen fuel cell technologies.
They currently have an excellent opportunity for an Area Sales Manager to join them on a full time, permanent basis. Ideally based somewhere between Coventry and Leeds (these are locations of 2 of their depots) covering the Midlands and the North.
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Develop and grow company Supplier profile to existing and new customers, from site to Senior management and Director level.
2. Grow and ensure Market awareness of the company as a supplier of Hydrogen / Battery Power and Lighting.
3. Promote and grow our Fuel Cell TH200 Lighting tower so it’s the system of choice within the Construction, film / entertainment and Rail industry.
4. Contribute to the public profile of the Company by reporting any newsworthy items.
5. Keep our Marketing manager up to date with product photos and information for posting on social media to promote our business.
6. Inform the Sales Director on a timely basis on information relating to activities of competitors or customers that may result in conflict with our business.
7. Assist with all service-related matters and carry out training and demonstrations when required.
8. Work with the Credit Control team as and when needed, to ensure creditworthiness and reduce credit risk of potential and existing customers.
9. Maintain up to date records and information of all customers, and potential customers on our CRM system.
10. Maintain a high level of expertise and keep up to date with technical knowledge of all products.
11. Ensure full compliance with the company Health and safety systems such as Risk Assessment, method statements, COSHH and PPE.
12. Any other duties required.
Person Specification
1. Driving Licence Essential.
2. Will come from an engineering background and preferably have relevant qualifications.
3. Will have demonstrable experience in sales (5+ years).
4. Experience selling to – Construction, Rail, Events (advantageous).
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. A high level of interpersonal skill and can work effectively with others.
7. An efficient, organised person – not afraid to ask for a steer in a situation, but also able to suggest what you think should be done.
