PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the end-to-end supply chain process, ensuring the timely delivery of products, the highest product quality, and effective coordination between suppliers, the product development team, and internal stakeholders. This role is critical in driving operational efficiency, improving inventory management, and ensuring that the company’s supply chain is resilient, cost-effective, and future-proof.
As the leader of the supply chain function, you will ensure seamless communication between departments, drive the implementation of best practices, and use data to make informed decisions to meet production and sales targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work closely with the product development team to ensure products remain on track with development milestones and timelines.
* Liaise with suppliers on technical details, including AAS parts, ordering behaviours, delivery profiles, and drawing approvals.
* Ensure the product development team are meeting production schedules and that orders are placed on time to meet delivery deadlines.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of quality components.
* Coordinate with internal teams (particularly production) to ensure components are delivered in the most efficient manner, with proper packaging, barcodes, and paperwork.
* Manage and oversee the purchasing process, ensuring that buyers execute orders efficiently and provide feedback on quality concerns.
* Track and resolve supply chain issues, including delays, shortages, and discrepancies, using MRP systems, overdue reports, and expedited shipping when necessary.
* Optimize working capital by proactively managing component inventory—expediting where needed and delaying orders when required.
* Find solutions to overcome supply delays, such as sourcing from alternate suppliers, utilizing alternative components, or converting components via subcontract work.
* Identify and liquidate dead stock where possible to reduce excess inventory and minimize financial impact.
* Establish and enforce internal processes and standards that future-proof the supply chain department and its operations.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Previous experience in supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry (e.g., manufacturing, consumer goods, etc.).
* French language skills are highly desirable
* Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, particularly in collaboration with product development and sales teams.
* Strong expertise in S&OP processes, inventory management, and production planning.
* Experience working with MRP systems, ERP software, and advanced supply chain management tools.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
* High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
