Andersen James have partnered with a long- standing client to assist in a new exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join their Northern team. Our client, a leading Social Housing Contractor are looking for a Senior Estimator to be involved in refurbishment projects across the North West, Yorkshire and East Midlands regions for the social housing/ sustainability sector.
With the success of our client growing out their portfolio, this is an extremely exciting time for an Estimator to join the team as they continue their huge growth plans for 2025. Within this position you will require the following:
* Experience on various different products (New Build, Construction). There is a preference towards the Social Housing and Sustainability sector.
* Capable of working with estimating software (preference Conquest)
* Exceptional focus on attention to detail
* Ability to present complex and technical information to various levels within the business.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and work to key deadlines.
The Role:
* Supporting the Commercial team on a mixture of tenders and bids, primarily on refurbishment / planned maintenance and sustainability projects.
* Working with the bid and delivery teams to provide information to develop the bid strategy and pricing strategy.
* Accurately review tender information, liaising with the legal team to understand all potential risks, and provide a detailed tender appraisal to the board.
* Working with the sustainability team to understand current client priorities and assist in providing cost proposals for future projects.
* Liaising with internal and external consultants to understand any key aspects of design associated with each project.
* Price BOQ’s / tender documents accurately and produce quote comparisons for all trades via either excel or estimating software.
* Identify potential risks and opportunities within the project and assess the potential impact together with any necessary qualifications
* Produce accurate take offs using either estimating software.
* Developing cost information from first principles and work with the supply chain to understand the net cost for each trade.
* Liaising with statutory authorities to understand potential scope of works and lead ins.
* Working with the operational team to understand the programme and management requirements for each project and to provide a suitable preliminary allowance.
