The role
We have an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated Professional Services team in the School of Modern Languages. As a member of the team, you will deliver comprehensive administrative support and outstanding customer service, developing excellent working relationships with colleagues and students.
You will be interested in working in a fast-paced and varied environment as well as an interest in social media. You must be proactive and a confident team player, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a diverse workload. You will have a keen eye for detail and planning and organisational skills are essential.
You will contribute to the successful delivery of an excellent student and colleague experience. You will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth and effective running of the school’s taught and research programmes, social media channels, website, assisting with the running of events, booking travel and purchasing, where you will support students, academic colleagues, and committees.

Key Accountabilities
1. To provide a professional and proactive service to colleague, students and visitors with a clear focus on customer service
2. To provide general administrative support as required, including (but not exclusively) booking travel, purchasing, deliveries, assisting with the running of events, administering mail and stocks of consumables, day to day correspondence, reception services and diary management
3. To clearly communicate and disseminate information as requested and to maintain up to date unit records
4. To act as secretary to meetings including logistical arrangements such as room bookings, agenda preparation and circulation, minute taking and monitoring progress of actions
5. To undertake an active role in the health and safety management of a designated office, contributing to the maintenance of a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors
6. To contribute to the effective and efficient running of School offices through a team approach, providing assistance to colleagues as appropriate
7. To work as part of a wider education team and to undertake other duties within the scope and general nature of the grade which may be required.

Qualifications
24. Maths and English at GCSE Level 4 or equivalent
25. OR relevant work experience in an administrative or customer service setting
