Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This post is a replacement for the retirement of the lead clinician in malignant haematology and haemopoetic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and is anticipated to proceed to a substantive post. The main focus of this post will be malignant haematology, both leukaemia and lymphoma, in addition to contributing to the HSCT programme.
The HSCT programme is the sole provider of a comprehensive allogeneic HSCT service to children in Scotland which aims to expand into CAR T cell delivery. The department is working towards providing a leukaemia genomics service for the West of Scotland / Scotland. It is hoped that the appropriate candidate would be involved in these developments.
Other responsibilities reflecting the post holder’s interests will be subject to discussion.
Candidates should have undergone appropriate training in paediatrics and paediatric haematology.
Any Consultant who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the directorate in consultation with Consultant colleagues.

Candidates should provide original and authentic responses to all questions within the application form.
